Admission Process
Sir Adamjee Institute (SAI) announces its admissions to XI year in all the leading newspapers and on its website. Applicants are required to follow the instructions given in the SAI brochure while undergoing the admissions process. Admission at SAI is strictly merit based; any recommendation and / or influence to secure admission will result in disqualification of the candidate.
Academic Requirement
- For Science Group 60% and above in SSC examinations or equivalent for science group candidates.
- For Commerce Group 60% and above in SSC examinations or equivalent.
- Candidates with Cambridge background are required to clear 8 papers with 4 compulsory papers (Urdu, English, Pakistan Studies and Islamiat) and one Mathematics paper from optional subjects.
- Candidates with SSC General Group are NOT eligible to apply for admission in Science Group (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical or General Science).
- Candidates who have studied Computer Studies in lieu of Biology in SSC or its equivalent examination are NOT eligible to apply for admission in Pre-Medical Group.
- Candidates who have not studied Biology/Computer Science in O’ Level Examination are not eligible to apply for admission in science (Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical groups.
Admission Criteria
Provisional admission is given on the basis of merit determined through candidate’s result of SSC-Part I or its equivalent examination, admission test and interview. The merit assessment comprises:
- Previous Scholastic Achievement
- SAI Aptitude Test
- Interviews
Age Limit
Maximum age limit should not exceed to 18 years on 01 August, in the year of application. Relaxation up to one year is given to Hafiz-e-Quran. (The candidates are required to show their “Sanad”).
SAI Aptitude Test
Applicants are required to take the Aptitude Test (held by SAI) irrespective of the curricula or system of education they have followed in the past. The standardized test provides a fair measure of candidates’ scholastic attainment as well as an insight into the potential of all applicants. The aptitude test in conducted by SAI to assess applicants’ skills.
Applicant's Interview
Applicants who succeed in the SAI Aptitude Test are invited for an interview. The interview is conducted by panel comprising senior faculty members to assess knowledge, communication skills, confidence and response patterns of the candidates. Presence of the parents or guardian is compulsory during the interview.
Final Selection
The final selection of the candidate depends on the cumulative score of the Previous Scholastic Achievement, SAI Aptitude Test score and marks in the Interview. The final admission list is announced on the college notice board and the website.
Confirmation of Provisional Admission
After the declaration of annual result of SSC or its equivalent examinations by the respective board/university, provisional admission of only those students will be confirmed who have:
- Secured a minimum of 65% aggregate marks in Science Group in SSC Examinations or equivalent
- Secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in General Group in SSC Examinations or equivalent
- Obtained equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) for O’ Level students
The original Marks Sheet / Statement of Results of examinations should be submitted to SAI Admission Department within 15 days of the declaration of results by the board / university.

- Equivalent Certificate
- Permission for Regularization of Admission (PRA)
Boards other than Karachi
- Original Migration Certificate
- Permission for Change of Board – PCB
Non compliance of the above documents, provisional admission would neither be confirmed nor regularized.
Admission withdrawal/Cancellation
• In case of withdrawal from the college due to any reason whatsoever, no fee under any circumstances, will be refunded. However, only in the case of cancellation of admission due to the candidate being unable to meet the admission criteria, the fee will be refunded.
Delay in fee Payment
• If the student in involved in any may result in the suspension of student form the class.
Disciplinary
• SAI Management monitors the matter, the admission of the student can be cancelled.
Academic performance of the students through their internal examination system. In case, student’s performance in internal examination in poor in the first and second terms, his/her admission may be cancelled.
Admission to the Second Year
Students clearing their first year will not be automatically eligible for admission to the second year; they are required to seek re-admission through fresh process which will require the following:
- Academic performance during internal examinations (First Term, Second Term and Preliminary Examination) of the first year.
- Satisfactory behavior
- Minimum 80% attendance
- Punctuality
- No involvement in any disciplinary issue.
