History and Background

Sir Adamjee Institute (SAI) was established to fulfill the vision of the Pakistan Memon Educational and Welfare Society (PMEWS) to provide quality education to a broad segment of society. PMEWS, founded on January 26, 1955, was a continuation of the All India Memon Educational and Welfare Society formed in 1933.

With the goal of offering high-quality education to deserving and talented students, PMEWS partnered with the Commecs Educational Trust to launch an Intermediate (Commerce) program in 2004, followed by Pre-Engineering in 2005 and Pre-Medical in 2006. Thanks to its highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, the college achieved a 100% pass rate in its first appearance at the BIE Annual Examinations. Since then, SAI has consistently upheld its reputation and emerged as one of Karachi’s premier educational institutions. SAI stands as a lasting tribute to the great visionary, Sir Adamjee Haji Dawood.

Commerce

The college was started with Commerce group in 2004. Accounting, Banking, Principles of Commerce, Commercial Geography, Business Studies, Economics, and Statistics are taught using a practical approach to make learning engaging and approachable of the students choosing commerce faculty.

Pre-Engineering

The Pre-Engineering group was started in 2005 under the direction of a science faculty that was devoted, experienced, and highly motivated. The different fields of engineering such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Architectural, Telecom, Chemical, Space & others.

Pre-Medical

The Pre-Medical group was introduced in the year 2006. It serves as a gateway to a variety of medical professions, including physiotherapy, surgery, pharmacy, microbiology, molecular genetics, biochemistry, biotechnology, and bioinformatics, among others.

Computer Science

The Computer Science program, introduced in 2019, aims to develop students’ foundational scientific skills in Physics, Computer, Mathematics, and Statistics. Through a combination of lectures & practical, including programming languages, students gain both theoretical knowledge & experience.

Co/Extra curricular activities

Extra-curricular activities alongwith academic activities help students to learn about themselves and develop and use their skills and knowledge in different contexts. Such activities are an essential element of the college experience.

Performance based merit scholarships

We offer merit scholarships to the meritorious students, on their continuous academic performance in Mid-Term and Preliminary Examinations. Which creates competitive environment with financial relief and increase their confidence.

Well stocked Library

The importance of a well stocked library within a college has a greater impact that one could possibly imagine. The library, like a wise old owl perched on a tree branch would be the place that everyone would come for free advice, guidance or peace.

Fee endowment

SAI believes that everyone has the equal right to get quality education. This is the sole reason behind our Endowment programme. The students who cannot afford to pay the college fee are given endowments to keep their education continuing. SAI has so far bestowed endowments to many deserving students.

Modern Science Labs

In order to cater the needs of the students, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Laboratories were set up. The laboratories are fully equipped with all modern scientific facilities and apparatus for students to do their experiments, practical assignments.
